The Sea Gypsy
Hi there. I’m Marci. Welcome to the Sea Gypsy Cottage, I am glad you are here. Everyone has a story to tell, and I can’t wait to share with you our renovation story. The good, the bad and the ugly. There will be no candy coating on this blog. Some projects went smoothly, some were a fail, most if not all were trial and error. Some mistakes were laughable, some were costly and one even resulted in an ER visit. But at the end of the day, that’s what makes it “home”.
As a child I lived all over the world. After marriage came children, then climbing the corporate ladder so to speak, relocating as the career dictated. I guess that is the gypsy in my soul. But I heard the siren’s call since before I could crawl. It has been my life’s dream to live by the sea. That is where I will begin this story.
I am a simple person. I lead a simple life. It doesn’t take much to make me happy…..a walk on the beach, lunch at a quaint seaside café. I am truly blessed with an amazing husband, happy, healthy children and parents that shaped me into who I am today. Of course we have the same struggles and worries that most of us have, but I have more to be grateful for than I will ever deserve. I don’t typically delve into serious philosophical conversation. The most thought provoking issue I have pondered of late is who invented the sand chair? I believe he or she should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. I know for a fact the ocean restores my soul and I believe if everyone spent more time at the beach, the world would be a better place!!!!
I am a thrifter at heart. Nothing beats finding a great deal! Fresh flowers are my big splurge. Tulips most preferably. I use way too many exclamation marks!!!!! I think they were my emojis before emojis were a thing. I don’t watch TV. Candy kisses with almonds are my one addiction. I would love to travel more in the future. One thing I have always wanted to do but haven’t (yet)—-is be a foster parent. I love writing, photography and anything and everything house and home.
The beach is and always has been my happy place. It is only fitting that our home reflect that—-subtle ways through color and texture and more directly in other ways (baskets of shells and colorful beach towels)!!!!
Welcome. I hope you enjoy your visit.
